In Recovery

I’m a recovering matchaholic. I grew up in the 80’s when all the cool kids matched their socks to their shirts. I’ve also been poisoned by outdated style rules like the one that decrees your belt, shoes, and bag should all be the same color.

There’s nothing wrong with matching the colors of various elements of an outfit, but it’s limiting. I could wear this blue-green skirt with a blue-green top, or play it even safer and pair it with a neutral, but how much more fun is it to top it with a bright coral blouse? (And then I can work in my (matching) coral and blue earrings.)

Cardigan, Moda International. Blouse, Worthington. Skirt, flea market. Shoes, Bitten. Bangles, Girl Props. Earrings, Sin City.

Past, safer parings with this skirt:

I was brave, and unmatched, once before:

How do you feel about matching?
