Super Striped

I so enjoyed last week’s stripe-a-palooza. I wore everything from mime stripes to animal stripes to gangster stripes. Which striped outfit was your favorite?

My favorite stripes were...
	Low Contrast
	Zoo
	Triple Stripes
	Lucky Stripes
	Glacier Girl
	City Stripes

I can't wait to see your Super Stripes.

City Stripes

I spend a lot of time downtown, but I’ve never had my picture taken at Cincinnati’s best known landmark. In fact, when I moved here I knew nothing about the city except that this fountain was in the opening credits of WKRP in Cincinnati. It’s a shame it hasn’t appeared on WIW2D before now.

Cardigan, Old Navy. Tee, swap. Shorts, The Limited. Openweave tights, Forever 21. Red tights, Anne Klein. Boots, Matisse. Charm necklace, VCLM. Tri-metal necklace, thrifted.

Glacier Girl

Once upon a time, I was a big fat hippie and spent summers volunteering with the Student Conservation Association. The summer of 1997, I worked as a naturalist at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. I wore a “pickle suit,” rode my bike everywhere, and drank a lot of Alaskan Amber.

Now, I’m a total sell-out, but I still have the bracelet I bought that summer depicting the legend of the Raven and the Sun. When I wear it, I fondly remember my northern adventures with the Glacier Girls (and Boys).

Blazer, vintage. Blouse, Forever 21. Skirt, Talbot’s (thrifted). Pumps, Oh Deer! Tassel, Epcot Morocco. Arrowhead pendants, thrifted. Bracelet, G Chilton.

Lucky Stripes

Once again, Penney’s turned out to be me pot o’ gold. I traipsed about the internet for ages looking for an inexpensive, striped jacket and found this brilliant version at JC Penney.

Jacket, Allen B. Dress, Merona. Boots, Miz Mooz. Bag, Vieta. Earrings, a shop at the Three Rivers Mall. Hair clip, self-made. Sunnies, Betsey Johnson.

Triple Stripes

I'm channeling super stripes power for tonight's rehearsal. (I need all the help I can get since I'm feeling a little under the weather.)

Sweater, H&M. Shirt, Jones New York (thrifted). Peggings, Bongo. Loafers, American Eagle for Payless. Owl necklace, thrifted.

It’s a shame we don’t have more jumping in our choreography. I love to bounce.

Zoo

I’m wearing my own personal zoo today. I’ve got a starfish and an owl on my lapel and a zebra wrapped round me.

Jacket, New York & Company. Dress, Jones New York. Brooches, thrifted. Tights, We Love Colors. Shoes, Two Lips. Ring, Rafia and Bossa.

Low Contrast

Today’s stripes are rather low contrast. Purple against navy is a subtle use of color. (So, of course, I had to punch things up a bit with a yellow bag.)

Sweater, I Heart Ronson. Dress, vintage, thrifted, and shortened. Tights, Apostrophe. Boots, Nine West. Brooch, swap. Bag, Payless. Gloves, Bebe.
