Ship, Ahoy!

Today is Jules Verne’s birthday and Classic Blazer day. Therefore, I’m dressed like the cruise director of The Love Boat.

Blazer, Focus 2000 (thrifted). Dress, thrifted, vintage, and shortened. Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, White Mountain.

Knit Bottom

I love Beefy’s family almost as much as I love Beefy. His sister is especially adorable. And she gave me this knit skirt and suede belt for Christmas.

Sweater, Mossimo (thrifted). Tee, Target. Skirt and belt, gift. Leggings, J.W. Clogs, Kors by Michael Kors (thrifted).

The neatest thing about this skirt is that it can also be worn high on the waist or over the bust (as a mini-dress). I’m looking forward to future outfit possibilities.

Thanks, Briana!

Double Leggings

My legs were so so cold yesterday (in jeggings), so I thought I’d double up on the legwear today. I’m wearing a pair of 80s-tastic, shiny, black leggings under my leopard pair.

Sweater, Mossimo (thrifted). Tee and leggings, also Mossimo. Skirt, No Boundaries (thrifted). Boots, Diba. Earrings, World Market. Scarf, thrifted.

The double leggings worked to keep my gams nice and toasty.

Christmas Kitties

My mother went through a phase of gifting her daughters novelty socks. This pair features Christmas trees, warmly dressed cats, and snowflakes.

Hat, Mossimo. Tee, Jones New York Signature (thrifted). Scarf, thrifted. Jeans, Levi’s (thrifted). Shoes, American Eagle for Payless.

I don’t really like snowflakes, but I LOVE cats! Here are a few pictures of my kitties from the past few weeks:

When the cats sleep on the heating grate, I call them “hobo cats.” When they sleep on top of a paper bag on the grate, I call them “deluxe hobo cats.” Zoro rules the shanty town.

As you can see, my cats have a paper bag fetish. Sammy is bedded down in the kitchen. He isn’t on a heating grate, but he is poised to catch any food that might fall from the counter.

Maybe it’s because they’re brothers. Maybe it’s because the red chair is prime real estate (after the paper bags). But Roy and Walt can often be found cuddled together on this chair.

Here they were in the chair eight months ago:

To give you a better idea of how they’ve grown, here are Walt and Sam now:

And here they are last December:

Don’t feel bad for the kitten…he started it.

Can’t get enough of the kittens? Beefy recently wrote about the kittens’ first year.

And Pearls

The (faux) pearl collar on this sweater compels me to accessorize with more (faux) pearls.

Sweater, vintage and stolen from New Gate. Skirt, Parson’s Place (thrifted, vintage, and shortened). Tights, We Love Colors. Boots, White Mountain. Belt, thrifted and vintage. Bracelets, Claire’s, Forever 21, and thrifted.

I’ve only worn this sweater twice before. I seem to have trouble pairing it with other things.

Any ideas?

Stumped

My style becomes a little more experimental on the weekends. One of the “rules” I tend to discard is the maxim to look as tall and slender as possible.

Sweatshirt, Deb. Turtleneck, Gap (swap). Skirt, Dex (swap). Tights, Stocking Diva. Boots, Blowfish. Necklace, Phai’s House of Jade.

The combination of this hem length, the wild tights, and the baggy boots shorten my leg line, but that’s okay. I was more interested in having fun with my wardrobe and being comfortable for my evening activities.

Temper Temper

When it’s 70 degrees in November, it’s time to temper wintery garments with a touch of summer: a sleeveless chiffon blouse under a sweater dress and bare legs with tall boots.

Blouse, Romeo + Juliet Couture. Dress, Melton. Boots, Rampage. Necklace, vintage.
